How to Set up Your Session

When you choose to work with me on your family portraits, you receive personal attention from our first email to the day I deliver your gorgeous prints.

Yes, prints! Digitals are nice for archiving, but I specialize in creating personal art for your home.

First, reach out via email to receive my information packet. Be sure to tell me what type of session you are interested in, and it's helpful to include a good time to for me to call you.

Then we'll chat over the phone about details like dates and location options; will we be indoors or outside for a family session, etc. What colors would you like to use in your newborn session and what kind of products would you like to have at the end.

Booking is set upon completion of a standard contract and session fee payment. Both may be taken care of online. Once you book, I will send further info to help you prepare for your session.

After your session we will meet for an in-person viewing and ordering appointment. Proofs are typically ready about 2 weeks after our session. I offer a variety of prints, albums, frames and packages that include digital files.

Timing is important.  I schedule family sessions during "golden hour", meaning the time just before sunset. The late afternoon/evening sun offers the prettiest light quality and adds a special touch to your final images.

My style is constantly evolving - I am not afraid to use color in my newborn sessions, especially on baby girls, but I adore neutrals.  We'll chat about what you'd like to see in your newborn or milestone session.

Family sessions are meant to feel casual, yet it's a great excuse to break out a pretty dress and shoes.  While most parents want photos of their smiling families, I also like to incorporate more candid moments into your session. Running or rambunctious kiddos never get in trouble on my shoots!Shoot days are typically Wednesday through Sunday.

It's NEVER too early to book, especially if you are interested in a newborn session. Contact me for details!
